I know so many people (on and offline) who have a DSLR, but don’t know how to use a DSLR. They use it as a point-and-shoot camera and it’s permanently on automatic mode. While they’re satisfied with the pictures they’re taking, they don’t get why the pictures aren’t amazing given the money they spent on the camera and lens setup.

If you want to irritate a photographer, compliment one of their photographs by saying “wow, you must have a really good camera!” – watch their face.
